Landslide in Naga

Days of heavy monsoon rains caused a steep slope to collapse in Brgy. Tinaan, Brgy. Naalad and Sitio Sindulan.

The death toll from a landslide in Naga City, Cebu has climbed to 25 on FridayThe landslide, possibly caused by the heavy rains, struck Thursday morning and buried dozens of houses in Barangay Naalad and Sitio Sindulan in Barangay Tinaan.

So far, rescuers were able to pull out eight survivors. A 12-year-old girl was rescued around midnight. She was reportedly the only one in her family to have survived the landslide.At least 50 people remain missing.In the hope of finding more survivors, rescuers continued to scour the area using heavy equipment and K9 units.

The Cebu landslide came as searchers in the Philippines’ north continued to work to recover bodies of dozens of people buried in a landslide unleashed . We’re hopeful that there are many  survivors, that’s is why we’re not stopping to find the loses. We have a many spotters now in the area and some residents are also here to guide and help us. Ambulances and medical teams are on standby at the area to transport potential survivors.   A spokesman for the Naga city government said many of the rescuers were digging manually because it is dangerous to use heavy equipment.  For them to avoid that the people will even more. Its hurt to our part that our love ones will lost to us.
